When Audrey and Jeremy first booked their wedding in Whitesboro, TX - I was excited first to photograph a wedding in a new place, but also, I was excited to make it into a fun little family trip with my husband and two littles. We'd spend a few days in Dallas, then head to the nearest hotel, where he could entertain our girls as I photographed this gorgeous couples wedding day. Then, a few days before the wedding, as both of my crying toddlers climbed on me, my very thoughtful better half said some of the most extraordinary words an exhausted mother can hear. "You should go alone, and relax". And that I did!
This sweet bride found me after I photographed her brother and his beautiful wife here in a small town outside of Lubbock, TX. Soon after, they drove down for engagement pictures. We took some downtown pictures, then headed out to the farm. We spent our time talking, laughing, and really getting to know each other and at the end of the session I said, "Your wedding day will not be slow like this. We'll have to be so SO FAST, but I'm sure glad we got to take our time today!" And on their wedding day, I delivered 77 unique pictures that we took in 15 minutes, and that's counting the small drive to this tree arch!
Let me just pause to say - LOOK AT THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER - 🤍🤍🤍
As I was saying, as a Wedding Photographer, I strive to be extra, extra fast during this portion of the day. These are typically the photos that are most important to the couple, but you've just finished family and wedding party pictures and I'll tell you from experience... You just want to be done, and to enjoy the party. Your party! YAY!!! It is YOUR DAY after all!
So what is it like?? Actually being there on your wedding day? What is it like when I'm your wedding photographer?
Well, we will start with that traditional portrait. The one that your grandma will say is a "good picture" the one she wants on her mantle. We'll go through a very fast combination of more traditional poses...
Then, for a moment. We'll pause. And you'll spend your first moments alone as husband and wife.
I know, I know, your won't technically be alone, but by this time, we'll be friends, and you won't even notice I'm there. And that, is where the real magic happens!
